2025

Overview

Ver.iD is an identity and verification company established to address the upcoming eIDAS law, which will come into effect in the coming years. The current landscape is rapidly evolving, and the exact use cases and industries are still being defined. The goal is to update the current website accordingly, keeping it aligned with predictions while ensuring it can be easily adapted as needed.

Goal

Update the current website to explain what eIDAS is and why it is important, while also attracting business across different sectors that represent potential use cases.

Problem

The eIDAS regulation has not yet been enacted and will only become fully applicable in the coming years. The website should explain what eIDAS is and appeal to specific industries that are still being defined. The assumption is that eIDAS will be adopted in sectors such as government, fintech, insurance, and events.

Interviews

To identify potential areas for improvement, a series of interviews were carried out with internal stakeholders, existing clients, and new prospects.

Website Audit

Next an audit of the current website was conducted to asses what the changes needed to be.

It was clear a few areas needed focusing on:

  1. The website was not clear about its product offerings or how those solutions would actually benefit customers.

  2. Different sectors were not mentioned, making it difficult for customers to understand potential use cases.

  3. The components were poorly designed, requiring improvements in spacing, font sizing, icon usage, and overall consistency.

  4. The imagery used on the website was often irrelevant and failed to add value in its context.

  5. Responsiveness needed improvement, as components did not render correctly on mobile devices.

Design System

The goal was to develop a straightforward set of well designed components that would function effectively on the website. This was not intended to be a comprehensive design system, but rather a refinement of existing components along with the addition of a few new ones.

Final Design

The final design incorporated the newly developed components and featured a structured breakdown of product pages, sector-specific pages, a new blog, a contact page, an about page, supported identity app pages, and more. Website link: https://ver.id

Next Steps

With the website live and generating traffic, we could shift focus to the next steps.

  1. Create a narrative-driven identity verification platform that allows users to experience real-life scenarios using an integrated identity app. For example, verifying their identity to access government grants. This platform is designed both for curious users and as a sales tool for demo presentations.

  2. Develop a sign-up flow optimized for identity app integration, enabling seamless onboarding onto the Ver.iD platform. Previously, users had to contact support to create an account manually.

Reflection

Working at a start-up always comes with time pressures and constraints, such as limited development capacity. As a team, we did our best, but it remains important to continually monitor the statistics and revisit the design to make improvements when needed.
